Rick is the founder of the firm, a Georgia native, and an honor graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Georgia Law Review. Rick began his legal career as a clerk for the Honorable William M. Acker, Jr., United States District Court, Northern District of Alabama, and is licensed to practice in all Georgia courts as well as the United States Supreme Court. The firm is based on Rick’s thirty- five plus years of legal experience that include practicing business law helping his clients maneuver through day-to-day commercial challenges, handling unique opportunities such as negotiating complicated contracts, assisting with the sale or merger of businesses, and working to resolve unfortunate disputes between business owners. In addition to his business work, Rick has helped many clients in need of representation before local governments seeking rezoning, variances and annexation. Finally, Rick has had the professional pleasure of assisting families grow through adoption. As an adoptive parent himself, he brings a unique understanding of the emotional component of adoption coupled with full knowledge of the law governing all types of adoptions in Georgia.

Rick is a longstanding member of the Peachtree City community, a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Community Board Member of United Community Bank, and the longest serving Board Member of the Fayette County Education Foundation. He formerly served as the City Attorney for Peachtree City for over a decade and as legal counsel for the Sheriff of Fayette County as well as the managing partner for the largest law firm in the county. Rick has developed a strong reputation as much sought-after counsel in the areas of Business Transactions; Local Government and Zoning and Adoptions.

Rick currently serves as City Attorney for the City of Chattahoochee Hills and the Town of Brooks. He is also as counsel for numerous local, state, national, and international businesses.
