Deanna grew up in Jupiter, Florida, and attended Florida State University for both her undergraduate studies and law school. During her undergraduate studies, she double majored in political science and finance. Within her political science studies, she focused on emergency management. She also plays the flute and piccolo and was a Marching Chief all four years.

During law school at Florida State, Deanna was a Staff Editor for Volume 49 of the Florida State University Law Review. She also earned the highest grade in her class for both Estate Planning and Corporate Governance & Compliance Seminar. During her second year, she spent a semester externing at a non-profit law firm in Tallahassee where she worked on bankruptcy, probate, tax, and landlord-tenant matters. Throughout her third year, she clerked at a prominent law firm in Tallahassee where she worked on a wide range of civil matters, especially tax, estate planning, bankruptcy, and land use. 

After law school, Deanna moved up to Washington D.C. to pursue an LL.M. in Taxation at Georgetown University Law Center, where she graduated with Distinction and on the Dean's List. During her second semester, she externed at the United States Tax Court for the Honorable Elizabeth Crewson Paris, where she returned for the summer after graduation as a legal intern. During her time at the Tax Court, she gained invaluable tax experience. 

Deanna currently lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Michael, and Black Labrador, Bloom. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, photography, and being outside.
